"Resting Lady," a limited edition casting by Tuck Landland
of the National Sculptor's Guild in Loveland, Calif., sits on
the lawn at the Blaisdell Concert Hall.

That lady's been sitting there a long, long time. Too long.

Wat Dat?She's not moving. There's a bird on her head.

Uh-oh.

Oh -- wait. She's made of bronze. No panic. Whew.

This sculpture, out on the lawn of the Blaisdell Concert Hall, is one of several being planted around the city, courtesy of the Mayor's Office on Culture and the Arts. According to director Peter Radulovic, this particular piece is called "Resting Lady," and it's one of seven limited-edition castings.

The artist is Tuck Langland, who's represented by the National Sculptor's Guild, a gallery in Loveland, Calif. "We were interested in seeing representative bronze figures, and they sent us several catalogs, and we picked this one out," said Radulovic.

What's next? Public art bought off the Internet or eBay?

At any rate, kids seem to like sitting with the Resting Lady.

The piece measures approximately 4-by-4-by-2 feet and it cost $48,000.
