Maui man indicted in

Star-BulletinWAILUKU -- A 60-year-old man was being held today without bail, after being indicted in the killing of a homeless woman on Maui.
The Maui grand jury yesterday returned an indictment of second-degree murder and first-degree robbery against Dennis R. Love.
Love also faces several felony charges for allegedly attacking police officers with a metal pipe and smashing the windshields of two police cars.
According to a police report, while being treated at Maui Memorial Hospital after his arrest, hours after the woman's body was discovered, Love mumbled, "I killed someone. I killed someone. I killed someone."
Police investigators have identified the woman but are withholding the release of her name until they are able to find and notify her next of kin, detective Ronald Hiyakumoto said.
Hiyakumoto said he understood that the woman at one point had been living in a car.
"We found it at a service station in Kahului," he said.
The body of the woman was found near a pavilion at Baldwin Beach Park in Paia at about 4:36 a.m. Wednesday.
Emergency workers arriving at the beach park said they cut off an orange sarong tied around her neck, according to police reports filed in court.
A man in a pickup was driving in the park when stopped by a man wearing a gray shirt and no pants who said there was a woman's body near the pavilion, police said.
The driver shined his headlights but was unable to see the body. The man in the gray shirt then pulled the body onto the grass and left.
Police later found Love near the 7th green at the Maui Country Club and tried to detain him.
Hiyakumoto alleged that Love started walking away, then began attacking an officer.
Love grabbed a metal pipe used to make putting holes and swung it at two officers and smashed the windshields of two police cars before being subdued, Hiyakumoto charged.
