HONOLULU'S summer and fall concert and stage lineup is stacking up to be the best in recent years with major acts close to finalizing performances here for dates have already been reserved at the Waikiki Shell, Blaisdell Arena and Blaisdell Concert Hall.

Bullet Tina Turner -- Wants to perform two concerts in June at the Blaisdell Arena, marking the end of the U.S. portion of her Millennium Tour 2000 "Twenty Four Seven" before heading to Europe. The Blaisdell shows will be her first performance in Hawaii since 1988.

Turner's Millennium Tour 2000 begins June 1 in Auburn Hills, Mich., ending Aug. 10 in Helsinki, Finland. She's poised to perform here between June 17 and June 29 because the singer has the two weeks off after finishing in New Jersey June 16 and doesn't perform again until June 30 in her hometown of Zurich, Switzerland.

According to sources, the only detail left to be worked out is for Turner's people to select a promoter for the Hawaii shows.

Millennium Tour 2000 marks Turner's final big stadium rock tour. She has said she wants to work in smaller venues.



Buddy Guy will be at the Sheraton Waikiki June 8.



Bullet Buddy Guy -- Tickets go on sale tomorrow for Chicago blues king, who will perform three concerts in Hawaii next month: June 8 at Sheraton Waikiki's Hawaii Ballroom; June 9 at Kona Surf Convention Center; and June 10 at Maui Arts & Cultural Center.

Tickets for the 7 p.m. Oahu show are $30 to $45, available at Tickets Plus outlets including Tempo Music stores, the Blaisdell box office, and all Foodland and Sack N' Save stores. Call 526-4400.

On the Big Island, tickets are $35 in advance, $40 at the door for the 8 p.m. Kona show. Tickets will be available at MJS Music in Hilo, Byrd's Audio in Waimea, Mele Kai Music in Kona, and at the Kona Surf. Call 808-322-3411.

On Maui, tickets will be $30, $35 and $40 reserved for the 7 p.m. concert. A limited number of table seats will also be available at $45. Tickets will be available at the MACC box office, or charged by phone at 242-SHOW (7469).

Oahu blues guitarist Bud Cerio will open all the shows.

Bullet Blink-182 -- Tickets also go on sale tomorrow for an all-ages concert that marks the return of the wise-cracking band best known for its video parodying boy bands, "All the Small Things."

The concert will begin at noon July 8 at Waimanalo Polo Field. Also on the bill will be special guests F´nixITX, Less Than Jake and Unit 101.

Tickets are $27.50 general, available at Radio Free Music Center, Tower Records, Tower Video Kapiolani, Hungry Ear Records, Tempo Music, Jelly's Puck's Alley and Pearl Kai, the University of Hawai'i Campus Center, or charge by phone at 526-4400.

Bullet The Judds -- Wynonna and Naomi -- will get about $75,000 for their one-night July 8 performance at the Waikiki Shell. No tickets prices have been set but sources said the front seats could be in the $75 range.

Bullet "Rent" -- Producers of the highly acclaimed musical have confirmed dates for a Honolulu run at the Blaisdell Concert Hall, Aug. 1 through 13. Prices have not yet been determined.

The show centers on Roger and Mark, two roommates, living in lower Manhattan. Mark is a budding filmmaker, who's constantly shooting documentary footage of his friends. Roger is a songwriter and musician who has AIDS and who loses his girlfriend to suicide after she finds out she has contracted the disease.

They and an assortment of friends and lovers fight, separate and reunite as the musical traces a year in their lives. "Rent" opened off-Broadway in 1996.

Bullet The Eagles -- Two October dates have been reserved for the Eagles at the Blaisdell Arena. They last performed here at Aloha Stadium during their "Hell Freezes Over" tour in 1995.

A deal with the band is being finalized, but sources said they are confident the concert will take place.
