Hawaii Pacific will host the Pacific West Conference championship softball tournament Friday and Saturday at its Windward Campus field in Kaneohe.

Pitcher Jennifer Woodard became a 20-game winner as the Sea Warriors clinched the league's Pacific Division title yesterday with a 9-3 victory over Chaminade in the first game of a doubleheader.

Ho'o Naki hit a grand slam in the seventh inning to put the game out of reach and Woodard improved her pitching record to 20-6.

HPU (34-12, 16-5 PacWest) completed a sweep over the Silverswords (23-22, 11-9) with a 3-0 win behind the three-hit pitching of Susie Schoales.
