New A.D.
for Seasiders

Randy Day has been named the new athletic director at Brigham Young-Hawaii, school president Eric Shumway announced yesterday.

Day, an assistant to Ken Wagner for the past year, has been a member of the BYUH faculty since 1980. Wagner, who has served as both athletic director and men's basketball coach for eight years, will remain as basketball coach.

Elam signs with CFL:Former University of Hawaii football player Matt Elam has signed a contract to play for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the Canadian Football League.

Elam, a senior defensive lineman for the Rainbows last season, signed a one-year agreement with an option year. He will report to camp in June.
