Punahou upsets
No. 1 Kamehameha

Brent Chock's two-run triple keyed a five-run second inning, and Punahou went on to a 9-2 upset of No. 1 Kamehameha in an Interscholastic League of Honolulu baseball game yesterday.

Buffanblu pitcher Reid Matsushima struck out seven and walked two and yielded only five Warrior hits in going the distance at Ala Wai Field.

Punahou improved its record to 5-5, while Kamehameha dropped to 8-2.

"(The league's) been exciting to say the least," St. Louis coach Wade Okamura said. "I wouldn't mind a few duller games."

An RBI single by Kalvin Koverman and three errors by Mid-Pacific helped St. Louis score four runs in the top of the seventh.
