Tsai cooks with
Choy for benefit

Ming Tsai, the immensely popular Food Network chef, is joining forces with Hawaii's Sam Choy in a fund-raiser for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Honolulu.

"The Gourmet Affair" takes place from 6 to 10 p.m. April 22 in the Hilton Hawaiian Village's Tapa Ballroom.

The two chefs will serve up a multicourse dinner, complete with wine pairings. Entertainment will include Hiroshima, the band that performs the theme music for Tsai's TV cooking show, "East Meets West."

Tickets are $200. For information call 521-3811.

If that seems too pricey, Tsai will put on a free cooking demonstration at Liberty House Ala Moana's fourth-floor kitchen, 5-6 p.m. April 20. The demo will serve to introduce the chef's line of knives and his new cookbook. Autograph-signing will follow. Call 941-2345.
