Mural brightens
Nuuanu Elementary

Nuuanu Elementary School has a new mural, painted on the
restraining wall around the construction work at the school library.
Richard Omori volunteered his time to paint the wall at the
urging of first-grade teacher Dayle Hoopai.



Message In A Bottle

Jessica Silva, 25, a student at Kapiolani Community College,
puts her hopes and a message into a time capsule that will be
buried at KCC, then opened ten years from now. Jessica hopes
to be a medical social worker. The time capsule is part of
Milestones: The 12th Annual International Festival.



Charity Walk 2000

The Hawaii Hotel Association today held a rally to kick off its
22nd annual Visitor Industry Charity Walk, the state's largest
single-day fund-raiser. Admiring the poster for the event are
Lani Miyahara of Hospice Hawaii, Noel Trainor, Hilton
general manager and event chairman, and Murray
Towill, association president.
