Protest contributes
to H-1 crash

By Ken Ige, Star-Bulletin
Police say protest activity on the McCully overpass today
contributed to a motor vehicle collision on the H-1 freeway
during morning rush-hour traffic. There were no serious injuries
reported in a collision between a car and truck. Six students had
put up banners on the overpass protesting University of Hawaii
tuition hikes. They removed the signs without incident when asked
to do so by police, East Honolulu patrol district Capt. Scott Foster said.
