The Search for Signs of
Hawaiian Life in the Universe

Tapa

Pine signs a welcome

Hatsue Yanagida of Wahiawa spotted the "Aloha Cafe"
in Newport, RI. Note the pineapple logo on the sign.
"Rhode Island uses the pineapple as their symbol of
hospitality," reports Yanagida. "A (real) pineapple
was put above the door to show that the captain
was home from the sea."

The Search for Signs of Hawaiian Life in the Universe is just that -- we're looking for evidence of Hawaiiana everywhere but Hawaii.
