Delmark Records
Dave Specter will again play with Third Degree.

Specter of the blues returns

Have guitar, will travel. Blues picker Dave Specter so enjoyed playing here last year with local band Third Degree that he's back for another round.

Specter and Third Degree will raise the roof at 9 p.m. Saturday at Anna Bannanas (information 946-5190, admission $15) and again at 10 p.m. Mar. 11 at Haleiwa Joe's (637-8005, $10).

Specter's tasty guitar licks and tasteful production savvy have recently highlighted Bay Area guitarist Steve Freund's debut recording, which also calls upon Boz Scaggs and Kim Wilson.

Over the last decade, Specter has toured, played and recorded with many of the greats, including Son Seals, Magic Sam, Little Walter, Otis Rush and Buddy Guy. His most recent album, his 6th, is "Speculation.' "

Third Degree features guitarist Chris Planas, keyboard player Bailey Matsuda, harp blower James Ronstadt, bass player Milan Bertosa and drummer James Ganeko.

The show is being presented by Mudman Productions.
