LH showcases
architects’ art

Liberty House is celebrating artistic talent in Hawaii through two new programs.

The "Art by Architects" exhibit at Liberty House Downtown features the work of local architects through March 13.

A creative bunch of professionals, many Hawaii designers have expanded their talents beyond blueprints and renderings.

The result is a mixed-media show that will be on display in windows and around the store.

Meanwhile, at Liberty House Ala Moana, the recently launched "Artist of the Month" program will showcase housewares and other items designed by 65 local artists.

Nearly 600 original items are available in Ku'u Home Island Gifts on the fourth floor.

They include raku pottery by Bob Jackson, block prints by Carla Crow, koa sculptures by Jerry Vasconcellos and quilts by Leona Spencer.

Featured artists will periodically make store appearances to meet customers and discuss their work.
