Tools for tackling termites

Munch, munch, munch. If that's the sound of your roof beams becoming termite food, the Urban Garden Center wants to help.

University of Hawaii entomologist Julian Yates will share the latest information on termites and offer some ways to make your property an unpalatable choice for these voracious critters.

The class takes place 9:30 to 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Urban Garden Center classroom. The center is at 962 Second St. in Pearl City.

The fee for the class is $5 and registration is recommended; walk-ins will be taken if space allows. Call 453-6050.
