UH perfect on the road

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - Saving its best road effort for last, the Hawaii men's volleyball team completed a clean sweep of its three-match California trip by downing No. 14 UC-Santa Barbara, 15-12, 15-10, 15-7 last night.

The sixth-ranked Rainbows (8-2 overall, 4-1 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation) didn't drop a game at Loyola Marymount, CS Northridge and UCSB.

Last night, UH hit .495 as a team. Clay Stanley (.531) and Costas Theocharidis (.500) each had 21 kills and Eyal Zimet hit .700 with 15 kills.

Kevin Collins had 28 kills to pace the Gauchos (4-3, 3-2).
