Police are searching for the drivers of three cars that hit a Kalihi man late last night on the Moanalua Freeway and then drove away.

The man, 43, was attempting to walk across Moanalua Freeway toward Moanalua Garden Park when he was hit by an Ewa-bound car near the Puuloa Road overpass at 11:28 p.m., police said.

He was knocked down and then run over by two other cars, which also didn't stop to assist him.

He suffered a fractured pelvis and legs and was taken to Tripler Hospital in serious condition.

Police traffic investigators have classified the case as a hit-and-run.

They are asking for any witnesses to call 529-3499.
