Daniels sparks
Kalaheo to win

He scores 20 points as the Mustangs
beat Kahauku and stay close to Castle
in the race for the OIA East title

D.C. Daniels poured in 20 points for Kalaheo as the Mustangs continued their pursuit of first-place Castle with a 52-37 Oahu Interscholastic Association East basketball victory over Kahuku last night at Laie.

The Mustangs improved to 8-1, one game behind the unbeaten Knights.

The Mustangs used a 13-4 second quarter to put the game out of reach.

Kahuku's Aaron Francisco led all scorers with 23 points. The Raiders fell to 3-6.

MILILANI 50, LEILEHUA 44: At Leilehua, the Trojans made a strong second-half comeback to defeat the Mules.

Trailing 22-16 at halftime, the Trojans battled back to take a 34-32 lead into the final period, and then held on for the win.

Justin Grahovac (13 points) and Edwin Hernandez (11, three treys) led the way for Mililani (6-3).

Joshua Jumawan finished with 13 points for Leilehua (6-4).

Iolani then outscored the Spartans, 9-2, in the extra period aided by 7-for-10 shooting from the free-throw line.

Shane Ouchi hit 5-of-6 foul shots in OT period for the Raiders.
