Inspired by legend

By Kathryn Bender, Star-Bulletin
After hearing the legend of Mo'o 'ili 'ili, the dragon broken
into pieces when it got in the way of a Hawaiian goddess,
Punahou kindergartners began creating their own mo'o in
clay. Artist Kazu Fukuda, who sculpted the dragon at
Kuhio Elementary, shared his story and methods
yesterday with the Punahou and Kuhio students,
who wrapped up a study of reptiles and myths.
