James Lui Aki, 73, of Hilo, a retired Hawaiian Electric Light Co.employee, died Thursday at home. He was born in Ka'u, Hawaii. He is survived by brother Frank Jr.; sister Elsie Lee, and brother-in-law Steven Wong. Services: 10 a.m. Wednesday at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Thelma Evelyn Akiona, 82, of Honolulu, a retired waitress, died Friday at home. She was born on Maui. She is survived by sons Warren, Gary and Sidney; daughters Leonora Gau and Deborah L'Eplattenier; brother William "Blackie" Crowell; sisters Elsie "Buddy" Sinclair, Irene Barboza and Alice Souza, eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Randolf William Borges Sr., 83, of Kailua, died Wednesday in Kailua. He was born in Honolulu. He is survived by sons Randolf Jr., Harold, Barry and Henry; daughters Gwendolyn Menchaca, Miriam Janczak, Janice Wong, Bernadette Foresman, Charlene Luning, Lynda Borges-Oro and Colette Borges; brother Lawrence; sisters Bernardine Gandrud and Gladys Beaudry, 29 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. Helen Matsumi Chandler, 74, died Jan. 12 at home. She was born on the Big Island. She is survived by son Sam; brothers and sisters, and a grandchild. Services and scattering of ashes were held.

Louis DeCenzo, 77, of Honolulu, a retired U.S. Army sergeant, died Wednesday. He was born in Pitcairn, Pa. Winona M. Kuamoo De Motta, 62, of Keaau, Hawaii, a retired bartender at the Golden Room, died Wednesday at the Hilo Medical Center. She was born in Malama, Hawaii. Yasue Miyasaki Kawamura, 94, of Honolulu, died Jan. 16 at Island Nursing Home. She was born in Eleele, Kauai. She is survived by sons Tsutomu and Toshio; daughter Ruth Asako Takahata; sister Sachiko Kunishige, six grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Services were private.

Gabriela "Peke" Keller, 52, of Waianae died Jan. 13 in Honolulu. She was born in Honaunau, Kona. She is survived by husband Albert; daughters Kennedy-Anne Medeiros, Dawn and Leigh Keller and Joan Acasio; sons Junior, Gabe and Braden; father Gabriel Kelekolio; sisters Joan Mayfield and Esther and Sarah Kelekolio; brothers Gabriel, Joshua, Josiah and Caleb Kelekolio, and 10 grandchildren. Anthony J. Romero, 50, of Honolulu, a heavy equipment operator, died Dec. 22 in Honolulu. He was born in Hayward, Calif. Gladys S. Shimada, 64, of Waialua, who retired from Waialua Sugar Co., died Jan. 14 at home. She was born in Haleiwa. She is survived by husband Bruce Y.; daughters Susan Y. Asato, Christine S. Henry Watson Jr., 76, of Honolulu died Tuesday in Kaiser Hospital. He was born in Honolulu.
