Bisho new football
coach at Damien

Chris Bisho, a former Punahou football star and assistant coach at three Oahu high schools, has been appointed head coach of the Damien football team, Monarchs athletic director Herb Lloyd announced yesterday.

Bisho will complete his fifth year as athletic director at Academy of Pacific before taking the Damien coaching reins in the fall. He succeeds Mel Andres, who resigned as the Monarchs' coach at the end of last season.

At Damien, Bisho also will take a teaching position.

Bisho, a highly recruited Punahou lineman, played for Brigham Young before transferring to Southern Oregon, where he was an NAIA All-American.

He has coached at Kailua, Kamehameha and Pac-5.

Bown to join U.S. volleyball team

University of Hawaii senior Heather Bown is one of four new players added to the USA women's national volleyball training team.

Bown, a two-time All-American for the Wahine, will join the team when it returns to Colorado Springs, Colo., on Jan. 31.

Former Wahine All-American Robyn Ah Mow is one of three setters on the U.S. national team.

Pro Bowlers at Sea Life Park

Pro Bowl Family Day at Sea Life Park, with select NFL players and cheerleaders taking part, will be presented by Atlantis Adventures on Feb. 5 from noon to 7 p.m.

Residents and guests will have an opportunity to meet players and get autographs.

Kamaaina and local military admission rates are $12 for adults, $6 for children.
