Hilton taps new
marketing director

Roberta Rinker-Ludloff, Hawaii Visitors & Convention Bureau marketing chief in 1996-98 and longtime hotel executive before that, is back in Hawaii as area director of marketing for Hilton Resorts Hawaii.

Rinker-Ludloff left the post of HVCB vice president of marketing in mid-1998 for the White Plains, N.Y., headquarters of Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide Inc., where she became Starwood's vice president of global sales.

In her new position she will oversee marketing, advertising and public relations for the 2,545-room Hilton Hawaiian Village, the 1,240-room Hilton Waikoloa Village on the Big Island and the 485-room Hilton Turtle Bay Golf & Tennis Resort on the North Shore of Oahu.

Her 28 years in hotel and destination marketing included various positions from 1981 to 1996 with ITT Sheraton Corp., now part of Starwood. She held various positions with Sheraton, including hotel manager at the Royal Hawaii Hotel, regional sales director for ITT Sheraton Hawaii and director of sales at the Sheraton Maui.
