QB Club honors
for Navalta, Lima

Coach Wilfred Navalta and two-time All-American setter Juliana Lima of Brigham Young-Hawaii's NCAA Division II national championship team in women's volleyball, have been named the male and female Sportsperson of the Month for December by the Honolulu Quarterback Club.

They will be honored at the QB Club's 11:30 a.m. luncheon-meeting Monday at the Pagoda Hotel.

Wahine football tryouts

Tryouts for two women's tackle football teams - the Na Kane Koa Wahine of Oahu and the Kauai Thunder - will be held at noon tomorrow at the Barbers Point field.

Both teams plan to play in the new Hawaii Women's Football League.

The Na Kane Koa Wahine are forming their team and invite any woman 18 years old and up to try out. The Thunder, who are fully equipped and insured, will try out any Oahu women interested in playing for their team.

There is no cost for the tryouts.
