Tanibe wins
one for Menehune

Jonathan Tanibe hit a 15-footer at the buzzer, capping a sensational second-half effort and giving Moanalua a season-opening 50-49 OIA West victory over visiting Leilehua last night.

The winning basket came six seconds after Garland Gant had put the Mules ahead, 49-48.

Tanibe, held to two first-half points scored 22 of Moanalua's 31 points in the second half. He had 11 in the final quarter as the Menehunes overcame a six-point deficit.
