Celebrating Polynesia

Hula, Tahitian, fire and knife dance performers from the Polynesian Cultural Center will take the stage at the Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center during a Polynesian Festival 5 to 9 p.m. Jan. 15.

The family event will take place in the Hibiscus, Fountain and Ilima courtyards. Ilona Irvine and Vaihi will also entertain.

Cultural exhibits with Hawaiian plants and artifacts will be set-up throughout the mall, including demonstrations on lauhala weaving, coconut husking, poi pounding and coconut frond weaving

Additionally, the Poi Co. will also offer free food samplings of items such as poi bagels, poi mochi, flavored poi and poi biscotti.

Admission is free. Discounted parking is available at the Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center parking garage.
