Rip Curl Cup at Sunset Beach yesterday.

Slater eliminated
from Rip Curl Cup
Six-time world champion and defending Vans G-Shock Triple Crown champion Kelly Slater was among the upset victims yesterday at the Rip Curl Cup at Sunset Beach.
Current Triple Crown ratings leader Conan Hayes, Kalani Robb, Kaipo Jaquias and three-time world champion Tom Curren joined Slater among the top surfers eliminated in the 3-5 foot surf.
Among the Hawaii surfers advancing today were John Shimooka, David Cantrell, Ross Williams, Shawn Sutton, Tory Barron and Jason Bogle.
