Coming to the big screen

Tapa

Scheduled to begin their Oahu run Friday are the following films.

DEUCE BIGELOW: MALE GIGOLO
Rated R
Rob Schneider, Arija Bareikis, Allen Covert and Eddie Griffin. Deuce Bigelow is a hapless fish-tank cleaner house-sitting for his buddy. During a routine tank cleaning, Bigelow inadvertently floods the apartment, destroying everything in sight. His friend, who happens to be a male gigolo, demands he pay for the damages. Bigelow hires himself out as a male gigolo -- and finds himself the love slave for all the "clients" other gigolos turn down.

THE GREEN MILE
Rated PG-13
Tom Hanks, David Morse, Michael Clarke Duncan, Bonnie Hunt. An old man in a nursing home begins to cry as he watches the flickering figures of Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers dancing in "Top Hat." Decades ago, he saw the same movie under far different circumstances and, as he says in a voice-over, "sometimes the past catches up with you whether you want it to or not." The past, specifically 1935, when he watched the movie alongside a condemned man he was guarding, has caught up to Paul Edgecomb (Hanks) with a vengeance in this inspirational drama.

MY LIFE SO FAR
Rated PG-13
Colin Firth, Robert Norman, Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio. A well-acted, Scottish-set movie about a young lad named Fraser, whose restlessness is quickly defined in a literal way, as the 3-year-old tyke opts to crawl around the roof of his family's palatial home rather than be put down for a nap. Most of the movie is told from the perspective of the boy at the age of 10.
