Volunteers unveil a 50-foot ribbon at Kapiolani Park to publicize
World AIDS Day on Dec. 1. The volunteers, wearing white shirts,
formed a human chain around the ribbon yesterday. But they also
had to hold the ribbon on the ground when winds picked up. More
than 100,000 red ribbons will be distributed in the
weeks leading up to World AIDS Day.
