Grand plans for two Michael Jackson concerts in Hawaii and Australia to welcome in the millennium have been canceled.

Jackson's management told German-based Mama Concerts that the singer will not perform the New Year's concerts.

Mama Concerts head Marcel Avram told the Star-Bulletin on several occasions this year that Jackson would perform at Aloha Stadium in what he described as "an enormous, overnight-long event."

Now Avram says Jackson instead wants to complete recording the album scheduled to be completed early next year.
