Sister Harriet Lum,

Sister Harriet Lum, a Honolulu-born member of the Maryknoll religious order, died July 25 in Phelps Memorial Hospital, Sleepy Hollow, N.Y.

Lum, 55, taught at St. John the Baptist School in Kalihi from 1968 to 1975. She spent 18 years working in Indonesia as a mathematics teacher, director of administration for 50 Catholic schools in Bandung and as principal of St. Paul's School in Aileu, East Timor. She was the English language newscaster for Vatican Radio when Pope John Paul II visited Indonesia in 1989.

Funeral services and burial were in Maryknoll, N.Y. A Memorial Mass will be at 11 a.m. next Saturday at Sacred Hearts Church. Friends may call after 10 a.m. The family requests that flowers be omitted. Donations suggested to Maryknoll Sisters, P.O. Box 311, Maryknoll, NY 10545-0311.

She is survived by her mother, Muriel Lum Pang; brothers Gerard T. and Michael J. Lum; and sister Virginia Lum Young.

Silivo L. Brown, 69, of Kahuku, a retired security guard, died Saturday in Kahuku. Born in Western Samoa, he is survived by wife Marina; sons Hans and Silivo Jr.; daughters Lily Fonoimoana, Curlyn Latu, Deloma Sauvao and La Vern Brown; brothers Vaifoa, Tilo and Teleni; sisters Faafili Lealaitafea and Sugalu Solipo; and 17 grandchildren. Guillermo P. Dela Cruz, 90, of Waialua, who retired from Waialua Sugar Plantation, died Aug. 9 in Waialua. Born in Ilocos Norte, the Philippines, he is survived by wife Feliciana A. Charles R. "Todd" Eberle Jr., 66, of Kihei, a precision machinist for a sugar company, died Thursday in Hale Makua, Kahului. Misao Endo, 90, of Honolulu, a retired kitchen helper at Pearl City Tavern, died Tuesday in Ann Pearl Care Home. Born in Aiea, she is survived by son Gerald T., two granddaughters, four great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. Services: 6 p.m. Tuesday at Hosoi Garden Mortuary. Casual attire. Ellen A.S. Goo, 90, of Kaneohe, a tax preparer for the state, died Tuesday in Honolulu. Born in Nawiliwili, Kauai, she is survived by son Harry H. Jr., eight grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Private services.

Steven H. Higa, 48, of Waipahu, a produce manager for Times Super Market in Waipahu, died Thursday in St. Francis Hospital. Born in Honolulu, he is survived by daughter Joy Laura, father Thomas, brother Albert, and sister Lorene Nakamura. Services: 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Nuuanu Mortuary. Cremation to follow. Randy Hoopii, 49, of Fullerton, Calif., died Thursday. Chizuru Iwamoto, 92, of Kahului, a retired field worker at Hawaiian Commercial & Sugar Co., died Thursday in Kahului Hale Makua. Born in Waikapu, Maui, she is survived by sons Motokatsu and Tamotsu; daughters Patsy Shimizu and Mieko Fukushima; brothers Munaki Morimoto and Shoji Yamaguchi; sisters Kaoru Hashizumi, Dorothy Yamato and Thelma T. Wallace Y. Kimura, 83, of Waipahu, who retired from THOHT Construction Co., died Tuesday at home. Masao "George" Shibata, 89, of Honolulu, a retired health nutrition supplements salesman, died Aug. 9 in Beverly Manor Convalescent Center. Frances C. Smith, 82, of Kaneohe, a retired seamstress, died Aug. 12 in Honolulu. Ann A. Torres, 86, of Kahului, who retired from Maui Land & Pine Co., died yesterday in Maui Memorial Hospital.
