Isle athletes’ progress
can be followed online

Some of Hawaii's best young athletes are going to the mainland to compete this weekend, while some others are already there. You can track their progress with two Web sites.

For baseball fans, the Hawaii Big League Baseball team -- featuring local high school baseball players -- is in Tucson, Ariz., this week.

They have a chance to make it into the Big League Baseball World Series. You can follow their progress at http://www.extremezone.com/~davidm/aiea/.

Next week, nearly 40 young swimmers ages 7 to 17 will be competing at the USS Western Zone meet in Grand Junction, Colo.

They will be swimming against more than 1,000 of the best young swimmers from the Western states.

Their progress can be checked at http://zones99.csi.org.

"Home on the Web" is a weekly Friday feature of the Star-Bulletin.
