The fourth-seeded team of Dave Andrews and Wei-Yu Su defeated Michael Bruggemann and Bucky Jencks, 6-1, 6-2, last night in a quarterfinal match of the Kailua Men's Night Doubles tennis tournament at the Kailua Racquet Club.

Rain washed out the other scheduled quarterfinal pitting David Lam and Howard Tacub against second-seeded Andrew Csordas and Chris Leong. That match will be played tonight at 6, followed at 7:30 by the first semifinal in which Andrews and Su face top-seeded Ryan Ideta and Alex Sugai.

The other semifinal is scheduled for 6 p.m. tomorrow.

The championship will be decided at 6 p.m. Saturday.

Hawaii's 11-and-under team overcame a 3-2 deficit with three runs in the top of the sixth and final inning, then waited out a 2-hour rain delay before completing a 5-3 victory over North Carolina yesterday in the AAU National baseball tournament at Orlando, Fla.
