Chihuly raises glass

Internationally renowned glass artist Dale Chihuly will join local artists in a glass sculpture demonstration as part of a fund-raiser for the Hawaii Center for Learning Science through Art taking place at the Big Island's Mauna Kea Beach Hotel Saturday.

The event will take place from 1 to 5 p.m., followed by a dinner and silent auction at the hotel's Batik Restaurant. Auction items will include glass sculptures created by Chihuly and the local artists.

Tickets for the dinner and auction are $150 per person. Proceeds will be used to help establish the science and art center.

Runaway Bride

Julia Roberts plays a woman who never can quite make it all the way down the aisle, which piques the interest of headline-hungry reporter Richard Gere, who investigates and is hooked.

There will be sneak previews of one movie on Sunday

The Iron Giant
Rated PG
An animated feature about the friendship between a small boy and a giant metal machine that falls to Earth from outer space.
