High-tech group promotes Matsumoto

Keith T. Matsumoto has been promoted to vice president and chief operating officer at the nonprofit Pacific International Center for High Technology Research.

PICHTR, which promotes the development of high-tech industries in Hawaii, is looking for collaborative ventures in a number of areas, including renewable energy, environmental science and technologies, and education and training, Matsumoto said.

He joined the center in 1994 and has been vice president, chief financial officer, treasurer and program manager for the past four years.

Matsumoto also has worked for A&B-Hawaii Inc., The Gas Co., GTE Hawaiian Tel, Grant Thornton LLP, and Hawaiian Dredging & Construction Co. He earned a bachelor's degree in engineering from the University of Pennsylvania and a master's degree in business administration from the University of Michigan.
