pitches Middle America

Rusty LaBeau, who recently returned to The Westin Maui as its national sales manager, said he'll be going after tourist business in the Midwest and Southwest United States.

"We are going after a larger portion of the group market," said LaBeau who will travel to St. Louis, Chicago and Minneapolis and other key mainland cities to make his pitch.

LaBeau has more than 18 years of experience in hotel operations, sales and marketing and most recently was national sales manager for MeriStar Hotels & Resorts in Orlando, Fla. From 1987-1996, he held several positions with Westin Hotels & Resorts including part pre-opening management team at the Westin Maui in 1987. He also worked for Westin on Kauai and at Los Cabos, Mexico. He held other positions with Princess Cruises Hotels & Resorts, Meridian Hotels, Hilton Hotels and Holiday Inn.

LaBeau earned a certificate in business administration from the University of Michigan.
