Larry Richardson is on a mission for Junior Achievement of Hawaii.

"Our objective at Junior Achievement is to see that every student has fundamental understanding of economics and is better prepared for the workplace, whether it's through college, the trades, through nonprofit, military, government, business, whatever," Richardson said.

He has more than 24 years of management experience with nonprofits, most recently as president of Junior Achievement of Mid Michigan in Lansing from 1994-99.

Richardson originally came to Hawaii in 1971 and worked for Hawaii Hemophilia, Hawaii Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Junior Achievement and the March of Dimes Birth Defects Foundation.

He earned a bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing and economics from Central Michigan University. Richardson has been active in Toastmasters International clubs and the Lansing Rotary Club.
