UH’s Gentle, Degen
softball All-Americans
Pitcher Kelly Gentle of the University of Hawaii women's softball team was named a first-team Easton All-American yesterday and UH catcher Dana Degen was a second-team selection.
Gentle, a senior from Toongabbie, Australia, posted a 20-11 record with a 2.04 earned run average and 180 strikeouts. Degen, a junior from La Mesa, Calif., batted .339 with nine home runs and 34 RBIs.
