Selling the community
on Aston Hotels

Ruth Uy will be responsible for soliciting free-independent traveler and group business in the local Hawaii market for Aston Hotels & Resorts.

"I go out in the community to tell groups about Aston and increase brand-name recognition," Uy said. "It's getting them aware of our wide variety of properties."

Uy said Aston offers a 4 p.m. late checkout for local residents on a space-available basis.

She joined Aston in 1997 and most recently served as sales representative for the Aston Waikiki Beachside and the Waikiki Joy Hotel. She earned a bachelor's degree in political science with honors from the University of Western Ontario in Canada.

Uy is a member of the Venture Club, a young professional women's organization active in community service projects, including help for homeless and abused children. She is a native of Canada and is fluent in Hockien, a southern Chinese dialect.
