Promoting the isles for HVCB

Daniel E. Beeman will oversee elements of the Hawaii Visitors & Convention Bureau's direct marketing programs, including "Aloha Cities" and "Chefs of Aloha, Hawaii's Cuisine on Tour." He also will be involved in new programs such as the Xterra triathlon in 10 U.S. cities from May 14 to Oct. 27-31, when the finals will be held at Wailea, Maui.

"I'm delighted to be representing this beautiful state and traveling (to most of the 10 cities) to evangelize Hawaii," Beeman said.

He most recently was manager of corporate sponsorship at Pier 39, the visitor attraction at Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco. Beeman began his marketing career in Chicago with his own sports marketing company, SportCorp. He also worked as special events manager for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and in real estate marketing in Chicago. Beeman is an Army paratrooper veteran who earned a bachelor's degree in speech communications from Eastern Illinois University.
