Kamehameha keeps
heat on Iolani

Paki Lum stroked a three-run homer in the top of the first inning and Kellen Briones added a three-run blast in the sixth as Kamehameha beat Mid-Pacific, 15-7, in Interscholastic League of Honolulu baseball action yesterday at the Mid-Pacific field.

Paki also had a solo homer and finished with four RBIs to help the Warriors (10-3) stay within a half-game of ILH leader Iolani.

Mid-Pac (7-5) closed to 9-6 but Kamehameha broke it open with six runs in the seventh.

At Ala Wai field, the Crusaders (10-3) broke it open with an eight-run fourth inning against the Spartans (4-7) in a game called after five innings due to the 10-run rule.

St. Louis remains tied with Kamehameha for second, a half-game behind Iolani. The Crusaders sent 12 batters to the plate in the fourth, with two-run singles by Jovaustin Murray-Thornton, Jandin Thornton-Murray and Shaynen Arellano.

Undefeated Warriors cruise

Raelen Self scored a game-high 15 points and Tai Soo added 12 as Kamehameha (9-0) defeated Sacred Hearts, 56-36, to remain unbeaten in Interscholastic League of Honolulu girls' basketball yesterday.

Carlene Hardin led the Lancers (2-7) with 13 points.
