About 250 youths -- representing all students from third to
12th grade at Honolulu Waldorf School -- armed themselves
with gloves and trash bags and descended on Waimanalo
Beach Park yesterday for a cleanup. The event arose because
of three national observances this week: National TV Turnoff
Week from tomorrow through next Tuesday, Earth Day on
Thursday, and National Volunteer Week from last Sunday
through Saturday. The morning cleanup was followed
by a welcome swim in the ocean.
