Chandel Santella scored 15 of her 23 points and hit nine of her team's 11 free throws in the final quarter to help the Moanalua Menehunes (3-0) turn back the Leilehua Mules (2-2), 50-41, in Oahu Interscholastic Association girls' basketball last night.

Puns, Crusaders romp

Punahou and St. Louis won ILH baseball blowouts yesterday at Ala Wai Field in which each of the losing teams managed just one hit.

The Buffanblu (2-2) ripped Maryknoll, 13-0, and the Crusaders (3-1) hammered Damien, 24-1, in games shortened to five innings by the 10-run mercy rule.

Punahou's Reid Matsushima and Doug Shimokawa held Maryknoll (1-4) hitless until the bottom of the fifth, when Kevin Higa stroked a lead-off single to right field.

St. Louis' Isaac Harbottle and Jovaustin Murray-Thornton held Damien (1-3) without a hit after David Doles led off the first with a triple and scored the Monarchs' lone run.

Keola Ane went 3-for-3 with a two-run homer to spark Punahou's 14-hit attack.

Jandin Thornton-Murray and Chad Santos cracked three-run homers and Gerald Welch was 3-for-3 with a double and two RBIs for St. Louis.
