If there's a book in you waiting to get out, the Hawai'i Book Publishers Association can help. The group is hosting a workshop on "How to Get Published in Hawai'i" from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. tomorrow at the University of Hawai'i, Watanabe Hall 112.

Learn from the experts whether you've got the personality and conviction of a writer. Learn the business of contracts, distribution and marketing.

Among the participants in the event are Ben Bess (Bess Press), Bennett Hymer (Mutual Publishing), Maile Meyers (Native Books), Bruce Hale (Words + Pictures), and others.

If you're the solo type, there will also be a discussion on the role of self-publishing in Hawaii.

The workshop fee is $75. For more information, call the education office at 956-8244, open until 6 p.m. today.
