bullet Nuuanu Congregational Church, 2651 Pali Highway: James Kuroiwa Jr. and Lori Yamashiro will speak at the joint bilingual worship service, 9 a.m. tomorrow. Kuroiwa is the owner of Mahana Landscaping and former chairman of the Oahu Republican Party. bullet Temple Emanu-El, 2550 Pali Highway: Rabbis Avi Magid and Morris Goldfarb, Jennifer and Sean Gorman, and Daniel Bender will teach basic Judaism classes from 7-8 p.m. and adult Hebrew classes from 8-9 p.m. during February and March.

Topics include: "The Differences Between Judaism and Christianity," Wednesday; "What Makes a Jew and Why," Feb. 10; "Kedushat Mishpachah: Creating a Jewish Home," Feb. 17; "Siddur and Liturgy: the World of Jewish Prayer," Feb. 24; "Biblical History: It All Starts Here," March 3; "The Shabbat as Central to Jewish Life," March 10; "Celebrating the Holidays: Part 1," March 17; and "The Real 'Prince of Egypt': Pesach and the Haggadah," March 24.
