The Milici Valenti Ng Pack advertising agency has promoted Jay Talwar with new duties for staff development and training, client relations and new business.

"We're focusing on clients' brands and looking at ways to protect their equity that they have developed over the years," Talwar said.

He has more than 16 years in account management, strategic planning and brand development, including 13 years while working in San Francisco advertising agencies. These include Chiat/Day, DDB Needham, BBDO, DMB&B and Ketchum.

Talwar came to Hawaii in 1995 and worked for the Peck Sims Mueller Inc. agency before joining Milici Valenti in early 1998 as planning supervisor. He earned a bachelor's degree in marketing from California State University at Hayward. Talwar was born in India and moved to the Pacific Northwest when he was 9 years old.

"I've been trying to get back to warm weather ever since," he joked.
