In honor of this mighty tradition, we at the Star-Bulletin are on the hunt for Oahu's best take-out pork ribs.
We have our ideas about the top candidates, but to be inclusive, we're taking nominations. Fill out the form at right if you have strong feelings on this issue.
We'll consider the nominations and pick a half-dozen or so for a taste-test. If you'd like to be a judge, nominate yourself (you must be available on Jan. 22).
Be quick about it. We only have a one-week window of opportunity for this phase of our quest.

Nominations for the Ageless Heroes Awards Program sponsored by the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association are due by Feb. 26.
The six categories of competition are:
Vigor and vitality -- demonstration of extraordinary physical or mental abilitiesNominators must complete a form and write a short essay on what makes the candidate an ageless hero. Community involvement -- commitment to a community and its members
Love of learning -- pursuit of knowledge by study or experience

HMSA will recognize six local seniors who will go on to compete for national honors.
