Emphasizing wellness
at Castle Medical

John Westerdahl has returned to Castle Medical Center to take over an expanded role with the wellness program, Pali Gardens restaurant, patient food service and medical nutrition therapy.

"We'll be expanding the menu at our vegetarian restaurant," Westerdahl said.

He was Castle's director of health promotion for eight years before leaving in 1989 to become senior nutritionist at Shaklee Corp. in San Francisco. He remains a consultant for the health products company.

Westerdahl also remains an international lecturer on nutrition and medicinal herbs, with a monthly national radio talk show. He's also nutrition editor for Veggie Life magazine.

In addition, he's a nutritionist for Dr. John McDougall's Right Food Inc., and the Millennium vegetarian restaurant in San Francisco. Westerdahl's new Millennium Cookbook is in local book stores.
