"The industry is going through a lot of changes with the soft market (economy), and mergers and acquisitions are occurring locally," Galdeira said.
She has more than 24 years of insurance experience and most recently was the company's vice president of sales. She replaces Richard Ro, who resigned to pursue mainland business interests.
Galdeira was office manager for Eastern Investment Inc. from 1989 to 1993, and a commercial lines manager for Insurance Specialists of Hawaii Inc. from 1979 to 1989. She started as a personal customer service representative for the Davies Insurance agency in 1974.
She is a graduate of Kahuku High School and attended the University of Hawaii.
