Look for a book,
isle style, on ’Net

Here's a great way to start this new year: read a book. To get local about it, read a book about or from Hawaii.

To find a fast, extensive source of books about Hawaii, go to http://www.europa.com/islandbookshelf/index.html, which is the home of "The Island Bookshelf, the Online Hawaiian bookstore."

This commercial site may be about things Hawaiian, but it is run from Portland, Ore. Don't let the address put you off, however -- it claims to have any book you want about Hawaii.

The site features a secure connection so you don't have to worry about someone stealing your credit card number.

"Home on the Web" is a weekly Friday feature of the Star-Bulletin.
