Selling visitors on
Kauai Coconut Beach

Ron Romano will look after operations, sales and marketing of the 312-room Kauai Coconut Beach Resort.

The 11-acre resort property fronts Waipouli Beach on Kauai's Royal Coconut Coast.

"We're trying to continuously improve our luau, which has been called the best on Kauai for several years," Romano said.

He has more than 20 years in the tourism industry and for the past three years has been general manager of the Sheraton Makaha Resort on Oahu.

Romano also worked for the Kauai Lagoons Resort Company in operations, sales and marketing positions and with This Week Publications as general manager.

He came to Hawaii in 1978, and his first job on Oahu was teaching tennis. "I wanted to escape the cold weather back east," he said. "Hawaii seemed the perfect choice, and it was."
