Crusaders 10th,
24th in rankings

The St. Louis School football team, which won its 13th straight Prep Bowl championship two weekends ago, remained in the two major national prep rankings while Kahuku High School was ranked regionally in both.

The Crusaders (13-1) were ranked No. 10 in the National Prep Football Poll and No. 24 in the USA Today Super 25.

The former ranks St. Louis No. 3 in the West and Kahuku at No. 10. The USA Today ranking has the Crusaders No. 4 in the West and Kahuku No. 10.

'BOWS SIGN JC FORWARD: Trenton McIntosh, a 6-foot-8, 225-pound power forward, has signed a letter of intent to transfer from Northland Pioneer (Ariz.) College to Hawaii and play basketball for the Rainbows.

UH coach Riley Wallace, who announced the early signing yesterday, said that while McIntosh would be eligible to play here during the spring semester, he most likely will sit it out and have two full seasons of eligibility left.

CALIFORNIA BOWLERS 1-2: Curtis Woods and Tony Reyes of Santa Rosa, Calif., were 1-2 after yesterday's first 10 games of the Sam Choy's Restaurant PBA Western Region bowling tournament at Aiea Bowl and Woods had rolled the only 300 game of the event.

Eric Yuuki of Waipahu was seventh, the highest placing for a Hawaii bowler, going into today's finals.
