Neal Ontal has football in his family. Steven Grace, who plays collegiately at Arizona, is his cousin's son. Ing and Ink Aleaga also are among his relatives, so it's no surprise that he knows a thing or two about the game.

The surprise, Ontal said, is that before yesterday he had never won the Star-Bulletin's Football Fever contest.

Well, the wait is over. Ontal correctly picked nine of 10 games last week. His ballot was the first chosen among those that were equal to or better than the best our panel of prognisticators.

So, he'll take home $500 and four tickets to the Jeep Oahu Bowl on Christmas Day.

"All this time I was playing and I finally got it," Ontal said. "Just in time for Christmas, too."

KGMB sportscaster Dave Vinton's 8-2 mark was the best of the celebrity panel.

This is the final week to play Football Fever, so get those ballots in and be eligible for the grand prize of an Infinity Sound System home entertainment center valued at $10,000, the first prize of a trip for two to the Hooters Hula Bowl on Maui, or the second prize of air fare for two to or from the U.S. mainland on Delta Airlines.
